New Moms
Being a first time mom can be a daunting task. I remember when I was newly pregnant with my first baby, tons of questions popped up in my mind. Where do I buy baby clothing? How do I feed my baby? What do I need? How do I properly prepare for my baby? Browsing tons of articles, reading reviews online, seeing other babies then I realized there is an ocean of information and I wasn't getting anywhere. Over time I'd run into products that I just can't live without now and I wish I would've had the information when I was pregnant with my son. Here is my list of things I would tell myself to get that I cannot live without now and I'd love to hear yours!
Essentials:
Doona Car Seat & Stroller- Recommended infant weight: 4-35 lb / 1.8-15.8 kg. Recommended infant height: up to 32 in / 81.3 cm. We've pretty much used this since my son was born and it's an amazing item to have as a new mom. You simply set up the base in your car and the stroller collapses into a car seat. You can even use it without the base if you do not have it, but be sure to properly mount it with your seat belt. The Doona is a must have in my opinion and a great gift for new moms.
Nasal Aspirator- Whenever Wolfe would get sick and couldn't breathe due to congestion, I would have troubles using manual bulbs. After I got a nasal aspirator, I never went back to the bulb. It does the job better, quicker and will make your life 100x easier.
Baby Shusher- Great to have during bed time, this with an addition of a sound machine made it very easy to put my son down.
Sound machine- White noise made putting Wolfe down easier and he would sleep more while it was on, be careful about the volume that you put it to as it can hurt the babies ears and make sure that you use it as an aid rather than a requirement for bed time. I personally do not use it everyday but for those days where I need extra sleep I'll turn it on and we both sleep till morning. It is also very nice to use in loud environments or if you're making a bit too much noise cleaning the house.
Baby Björn Bouncer- This is great item to have in your living room. I started putting my son in the bouncer when he was three months old. It's a nice place to put your baby in when you need to get things done around the house. When he was around 6 months, he started bouncing and entertaining himself. I don't use it much now at 9 months but I got my fair use out of it.
